Some serious venting
I haven't blogged in a while so I have a little catching up to do. I'll start with the bad, Thursday was seriously one of the worst days I've had in a really long time. I had an appointment about twenty minutes away and I had to bring Olivia with me. I left my house at 2pm, I didn't have to be there until 3 so I figured I would have plenty of time. About halfway there, we got stuck in a traffic jam. It wasn't just slow traffic, we were at a dead stop for a good fifteen minutes. I called and said that I would be late and they said that was fine. Another hour went by and we had barely moved. I tried taking four different detours and every single way was backed up with traffic. They called me back and told me that I would have to reschedule my appointment, I was so annoyed because I really didn't want to do that. Thursdays are my only day off so I had to reschedule a bunch of other things to fit it in, I'm so busy every Thursday for the next few months. Anyway, I turned around and started driving home and of course we hit traffic again. At this point, I started crying hysterically. I just couldn't deal with it anymore, the stress finally got to me and I just let it out. I could hear Olivia in the backseat doing her nervous laugh so I composed myself and told her that it was okay. When we got home, I went to grab her out of her seat and noticed that she threw up everywhere. This is the third time that she threw up within the span of a month. I called the doctor because I was starting to become concerned and he said that she most likely got motion sickness from the traffic. We didn't even get home till 5pm. So I basically wasted my entire afternoon driving for absolutely no reason at all. Three hours just sitting in the car, it makes me cringe even thinking about it now. Once we got home, I had to give Liv another bath (I already gave her one that morning), do her laundry and clean her car seat (not as easy task). On a good note, her therapy visit went really well. Her speech therapist said that she noticed some improvement with Olivia since she started daycare. She said that her attention span is better and that she was gesturing along more while they were singing songs. She has been doing great at daycare, she plays with the kids and even eats at the table with them. She still cries when I drop her off but most of the kids do. The teacher told me some interesting things too, she said that Olivia says a few words (that I haven't heard her say at home) while she's there, like "eat" and "ball". I wonder why she talks more at school than she does at home. I also heard that she has a little boyfriend, she kept kissing one of the boys in her class on the head. I told Paul about it and he wasn't too happy, I think it's cute though. Yesterday they had a Mother's Day brunch so I went with her and it was really sweet. The presents that she made me just melted my heart. When I had to leave, she got really upset but I knew that was going to happen. I've been sick all week, I don't know if it's just allergies kicking my butt or if I actually have a cold. Today has been spent mostly at home, we went to the store to pick up a few things and got some ice cream for dinner. For the first time ever, I ordered Olivia her own ice cream cone. She made a huge mess but she thoroughly enjoyed it. Tomorrow should be fun, we are going out to lunch with my family for Mother's Day, I just hope I feel a little better.

Spring tag
1. Where do you like to hang out during the spring? The playground, park or just out in the yard.
2. Favorite spring shoes? Flip flops!
3. Favorite spring accessory? Sunglasses.
4. Favorite spring treat? Definitely peeps, I love them.
5. Favorite thing about Easter? Good food and spending time with my family. Now that Liv is getting older, she will have fun coloring eggs and doing an egg hunt.
6. How do you like to wear your hair in the spring? I usually wear my hair down, unless it's really hot out.
7. Favorite seasonal beverage? Spring always makes me think of lemonade for some reason, pink lemonade is my favorite.
8. Do you like to travel or stay home during the spring? I love to travel but it's been a while because we haven't had extra money for it. If everything goes as planned, we will be going to visit family in South Carolina sometime before the end of the year.
9. Favorite spring nail polish? I love most shades of pink so that's normally what I pick.
10. Are you doing anything fun this spring? I would love to bring Olivia to the zoo. I also plan on bringing her to carnivals, fairs, parks, playgrounds and museums. I just want her to have a good time, I love seeing her happy.

Library adventure
I took Olivia to the library today and it was quite interesting. There were a few kids there and they all were really sweet. This one little boy kept talking to Liv, he was probably around four years old. He even came up to me and told me that Olivia was so cute. They were playing together for a while and then Liv sat down and was playing with a toy carrot but I guess he wanted it. He told me he really wanted to play with it so I told him to go ask her if she would share. I watched him go over to her and she just ignored him and then put the carrot in her lap. He came running up to me again and said "she doesn't want to share, I asked nicely but she just put it on her penis". I burst out laughing, his mom looked at me from across the room like "oh no, what did he say now". It was so funny, I guess his mom hasn't told him that girls have different parts (trying to keep this G rated). Anyway, Olivia had fun and it's always nice to get out of the house. It's been pretty cold out and it's supposed to snow tomorrow, that seriously bums me out. Tomorrow is the first day of spring, snow is unacceptable!

Hurry up spring!
Am I the only mom that forgets she's doing laundry? The other day it took me almost six hours to do one load. I forgot to switch the clothes from the washer to the dryer for almost two hours so I had to run it through the wash again. After that, I forgot again! I guess I need to start setting a timer on my phone or something. Okay, that was just a quick little rant about my forgetfulness. Anyway, it was such a sunny and warm (well.. warmer) day on Wednesday so I decided we should go to the playground. I was really excited but when we got there, the entrance was blocked off by a huge snow pile. I was pretty bummed, especially since it's the only playground close by. I ended up taking Olivia for a walk, it was great being outside. We are both ready for the spring, warm weather just makes me happy. I am not a big fan of the winter and I'm pretty sure Liv isn't fond of being cooped up in the house either. Yesterday was pretty nice out too, just a little bit colder than Wednesday. Olivia is really missing playgroup (it starts again in two weeks) so I took her to the library and she had fun there. We didn't go until after her nap, it was around 4 o'clock so there were a lot of bigger kids running around. Liv kept yelling in excitement and one of the boys kept covering his ears, she thought it was funny. She loves being around other kids, it's really cute to watch. She has such a silly and fun personality, I love it.

A few fun firsts
Olivia seemed a little better today but she is definitely still sick. I felt like we needed to get out of the house though. We have been stuck inside for a few days so we took her to a carnival. She was too little for pretty much all of
the rides, I was thinking about bringing her on that giant slide with me but then I had a horrible image of me hitting a bump and dropping her (crazy mom thoughts). Since I'm so paranoid we decided to just walk around and hang out. We got some yummy food, she absolutely loved the fried dough
and candy apple (just like me)! After the carnival we were so hot, we decided to go to
the pool. The water was kind of cold because there was some shade so she
cried for a few seconds when we got in but then she loved it! She kept
splashing and smiling. There's also a kiddie pool on the grass and I put
her in that, she had fun in there too. There was a little boy in
there with her, he was younger than her although way bigger but it was cute cause they kept pointing at each other. It was a fun day but I think tomorrow we will be relaxing!

Sharing germs
I'm finally starting to feel better (whew!) but poor little Olivia
caught my cold. I knew it was inevitable, we are together all day and I
may or may not have coughed in her face by accident (okay I did). Don't
worry, she got me back today by rubbing her runny nose all over my shirt
and hair, more than once. Despite being sick, she was pretty good today
(minus a few meltdowns but being sick sucks). We went to my sisters for
dinner and the kids played outside, it was such a beautiful day! Not
too hot or cold and there was a nice breeze. My nephews were taking
turns pushing Olivia around in a fire truck they have. It was really
sweet and I was glad because I was feeling a bit lazy per usual. Liv's
been walking a lot, she barely crawls anymore. She is still a bit wobbly
but she always catches herself when she falls and then she gets right
back up, she's determined. I'm proud of her, every new milestone is so
exciting, it makes me want to cry at the same time though. I always
think about how far she has come, she's doing so great. I just realized
it was Thursday as I was typing this. I still get excited for the
weekend even though I don't have a job right now but it's just because
that means Paul will be home! Yay weekend!
